This website is operated by Dawn Lester. For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

your email address when you subscribe to my general mailing list;

I do not ask you to provide sensitive personal information through this website.

Personal information is provided voluntarily when you submit one of my online signup forms. I do not purchase mailing lists or obtain subscribers' contact details from third parties for my own marketing.

If you subscribe to my general mailing list, I use your information to send occasional articles, updates, information about my books and events, resources, and other material relating to my work.
If you sign up for notifications about the Book Resources section, I use your information to let you know when new resources are added to that section.
I will not use your personal information for unrelated purposes without providing appropriate information and, where required, obtaining your consent.

5. Lawful basis for processing
I rely on your consent as the lawful basis for sending you email communications. By completing a signup form and confirming your subscription where required, you consent to receiving the communications described on that form.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting me at dawn@dawnlester.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew your consent.

6. Mailing lists and MailerLite
I use MailerLite to manage my mailing lists and send email communications. When you subscribe, the information you provide is transferred to MailerLite so that it can provide these services on my behalf.
For data protection purposes, I am the controller of your personal information and MailerLite acts as a processor. The processing is governed by a Data Processing Agreement between MailerLite and its customers.
MailerLite states that for customers in the UK, subscriber data is stored in infrastructure within the European Union and that appropriate safeguards are used where international transfers involving its subprocessors are necessary.

7. Cookies and similar technologies
This website is hosted using Wix. Wix uses cookies and similar technologies, including cookies that are necessary for the website to function.
I do not use Google Analytics. Wix may provide website analytics functionality depending on the settings enabled on this website. Where non-essential analytics cookies or similar technologies require consent, they will only be used in accordance with the choices you make through the website's cookie settings.
The embedded MailerLite signup forms on this website may also use cookies or similar technologies as part of the service. I will keep this section of the Privacy Policy under review if the website's use of cookies or other third-party services changes.

If you unsubscribe from a mailing list, I will remove or suppress your details from the active mailing list. I may retain limited information where necessary to record your unsubscribe request or to comply with legal obligations.
